What is a chemical peel?
A chemical peel involves the application of a chemical solution to your skin. This solution causes your skin to exfoliate and peel off, revealing smooth, rejuvenated skin. Chemical peels are particularly helpful in reducing the appearance of:

Who is a good candidate for a chemical peel?

Do chemical peels hurt?
You may experience some stinging during a chemical peel, but the procedure isn't very painful. The skin revealed following a peel is temporarily more sensitive, especially to sunlight, so you’ll need to be careful to wear ample sunscreen for several days after the procedure.
What should I expect after a peel?
You will have some peeling and redness following a chemical peel, similar to how you feel after a sunburn. This peeling lasts anywhere from three to seven days.
The staff at Rochester Laser Center will give you specific aftercare instructions, so you can maximize the benefits of the procedure. You may choose to repeat mild peels every few weeks until you achieve your desired look.
